Auditions For ‘The Producers’ To Be Held

The Lucille Ball Little Theatre announces its auditions for its September production of “The Producers.”

Auditions for leading roles and the company ensemble will be held Monday and Tuesday 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the theatre. Callbacks are scheduled for Wednesday. Interested people will complete a registration form and sing a vocal selection specific to their character role. Those interested in the company ensemble roles are welcome to sing a song of their choice. People will complete a short dance combination for dance proficiency. An accompanist will be provided, and people should bring their own music and personal planner for availability. Inquires into orchestration, costumes, properties, light and sound are welcome at auditions.

“The Producers” is a musical adapted by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan from Brooks 1967 film where a scheming producer and his mousy accountant aim to produce the biggest flop on Broadway. There are six primary lead roles, a few secondary roles and an company ensemble that the covers roles one-hundred roles.

Most adult roles require a theatre singing voice combined with acting and tap or jazz dance experience. A few secondary character roles are available for senior actors. There are no children or youth roles in this production.

“The Producers” opens Sept. 27 and continues Sept. 28 and 29. The show continues Oct. 2, 3, 4 and 5. The Lucille Ball Little Theatre of Jamestown is located 18-22 E. Second St., Jamestown New York. Additional information may be found at lucilleballlittletheatre.org.
