Ellery Senior Citizens Set To Meet

Ellery Senior Citizens met recently at St. Timothy Lutheran Church. A Mothers Day/Fathers Day dinner catered by Debbie Stearns, Classic Occasions, was enjoyed by all.

Those serving on the kitchen committee were Fran Bishop and JoAnne Capizzi. Bob Garretson led the flag salute to open the business meeting led by President Marty Hunt. Gene Norris led devotions beginning with a poem reflecting on Easter. A few verses about Mothers Day were given followed by a Memorial Day reading, “We will Remember,” about those men and women who served our country, some with their lives.

Mary Beth Mazzone and Maureen Langebartel celebrated birthdays and Elaine Crossley closed the meeting in prayer.

The program featured Lucille Miller, gifted pianist and “comedian,” who shared music and short quips about mothers, children, teens, and marriage causing much laughter.

Next month’s meeting will be Friday, June 14, at noon at the church. Those serving on the kitchen committee will be BettyLou Cheney and Carolyn Wickerham. Reminder to bring a tureen dish to pass and table service. The guest speaker will be Bob Terryberry.
