Blue Star Mothers Official To Speak To Jamestown Senior Center Members Tuesday

Jamestown Senior Center members met for a tureen dinner recently at the center, 556 E. Second St.

Shirley Vandenburg, director, called the meeting to order with the Pledge of Allegiance and Laurel Magnuson leading the group singing “God Bless America.”

Becky Blum attended to sell tickets to the annual senior citizen picnic at Midway State Park to be held July 19. Tickets can be purchased at the Office for the Aging office on Third Street across from Farm Fresh Foods.

The trip to Branson, Mo., will be held Sept. 15-21. The balance of the cost is to be paid by July 1.

Winners of the 50-50 giveaway were Angie Loverme, Magnuson, Vandenburg, Arvilla McKotch and Alice Coan.

The next meeting will be Tuesday in the upstairs of Immanuel Lutheran Church, 556 E. Second St. Those attending can park in the rear parking lot and enter the church building. The speaker will be Susan Rowley from the Blue Star Mothers. New members are welcome to join for a $10 yearly fee.
