Vets Asked To March In Parade

The United Veterans Council of Jamestown Committee is trying to find all current and former Jamestown area residents that served in the United States Armed Forces.

All active duty service members and veterans are invited to take part in Jamestown’s Memorial Day parade. The veterans can march if able or ride on a trailer that will be provided. The trailer is provided so that they can accommodate all veterans that want to participate. All veterans are welcome to come in regulation uniform or street clothes, with or without their ribbons, medals and awards.

On Monday, May 27, the parade line-up will be at 9 a.m. with a 10 a.m. start. The parade will lead off on Fourth Street in Jamestown, will proceed left onto Prendergast Avenue and will end at Lakeview Cemetery. Any organization or group that has not been contacted and would like to participate in the parade are asked to contact Melodie Paladino, council secretary, at 450-6768.
