Bluegrass Duet To Entertain Mayville Seniors

A buffet lunch consisting of several casseroles, sandwiches, pizza, salads and desserts was enjoyed by members of the Mayville Senior Citizens at noon at the Mayville VFW on May 2.

After lunch, Janet Loomis, president, began the meeting. Dianne Goodrich told three stories and asked all to join in the Lord’s Prayer. Janet led the Pledge to the flag. Edna Brown read the Treasurer’s report.

The committee reports followed. The kitchen committee was thanked. Loomis reported that the new coffee maker and decanters cost $335.77 and half was to be paid by the VFW leaving with a final cost of $167.89. Door prizes were won by Laurie Magnuson, JoAnn Hoglund, Eric Kreidler and Paul Motrynczuk.

Guest speaker was Jeanne Wiebenga who gave a presentation of her trip to Antartica and south Georgia.

The group’s next meeting will be held Thursday, May 16, at noon at the VFW and will be a Pizza and Salad Day. The club is providing the pizza and attendees are asked to bring something to go in or with the salad, such as croutons, cheese, chopped veggies or desserts.

Members will be entertained by the bluegrass/folk music duet of Gail and Bernie from Cattaraugus.
