Westfield Senior Citizens To Meet April 30

WESTFIELD – The Westfield Senior Citizens met at the YWCA at noon for a chicken and biscuit luncheon served by W.W.O members.

Drawings for St. Patrick’s Day items were won by Dolores Kaufman, Judy Sumption, Trudy Stafford, Jan and Ron Van Ord, Nancy Peters, Dave Cochran, Lucile Inwood, Betty Ward, Pat Everts, Carol Reynolds, Elaine and Hoyt Prince, Julie Holland and Darla Augur. Thanks and appreciation were given to the W.W.O members.

Shirley Kolpien led the meeting for president Pat Sciarrino. A humorous story and a prayer opened the meeting for 29 members in attendance. The pedge of Allegiance was recited. Ron Sumption gave the devotions.

The group was entertained by harmonica player Angelo Alaimo. He also shared how to play one.

Susan Lawton is our newest member.

The secretary’s report was read and accepted. Nancy Peters was thanked for taking minutes at the February meeting. The treasurer’s report was read and accepted. The 50-50 was won by Judy Sumption and Pat Everts won the door prize.

The Sunshine chairman, Dolores Kaufman, sent birthday cards to Ron Sumption, Shirley Kolpien and Pat Everts.

A sympathy card was sent to Lolita Ramos on the loss of her brother. A get well card will be sent to Pat Sciarrino. Members were ased to donate cards to the club.

The Westfield’s Women’s Organization will provide at the April 30 luncheon at 6 p.m. The kitchen committee is asked to help set up at 5:15 p.m. Discussion about changing the time of meeting continue at our next meeting.
