Presidents Day Festival Names Contest Winners
MAYVILLE — The 2019 Presidents Day Weekend Winter Festival, held at Lakeside Park in Mayville during February’s festival, featured several contests with cash prizes.
The popular Snowball Distance Throwing Contest, sponsored by Westfield Dodge City, was again held in five age categories. Winners in the 4 to 6 age group were: first place, Avery Burnight of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and second place was Maleaha Bonnonia of Van Dergrift, Pa.; in the 7 to 9 age group: first place was Zane Zawisa of Celoron and second place Savannah Rose of Colden; in the 10 to 12 age group: first place, Joey Feath of Erie Pa., and second place, Derik Rose of Colden; in the 13 to 15 age group: first place, Alexandra Rays and second place, Tery Bamaag; and in the 16 to adult group: first place, Jeremy Wiseman of Erie Pa., and second place, Andrew Mattson of Frewsburg.
Winners in the Snowman Coloring Contest, sponsored by Andriaccio’s Restaurant in 4 to 6 age group were: first place, Jacob Francis of Erie Pa., and second place, Phoenyx Steadman of Erie Pa.; in the 7 to 9 age group: first place, Hailey Myers of Stockton and second place, Thomas Simpkins of Erie Pa.; in the 10 to 12 age group, first place, Ava Green of Westfield and second place, Paxton Belcher of Warren Pa.
The Lego Creation Contest, sponsored by North Shore Specialties was again held with winners in seven age groups. Winners were Maddyson Sciarrino of Derby, first place and Landen Kalfas of Dunkirk, second place in the 2 to 3 age group; Maya Thompson of Fredonia, first place and Connor Hitchcock of Mayville, second place in the 4 to 5 age group; Elliot Chapman of Wattsburg, Pa., first place and Kaiden Thomson of North East Pa., second place in the 6 to 7 age group; G.P. Grimmelbein of Garnet Valley Pa., first place and Graden Lozier of Union City, Pa., second place in the 8 to 9 age group; Hanalea Grimmelbein of Garnet Valley Pa., first place and Sienna Ellsworth of North East, Pa., second place in the 10 to 11 age group; Carmine Lanese of Sagamore Hills Ohio, first place and Nathan Lancaster of Portland, second place in the 12 to 13 age group; and Eliana Sanford of Dewittville, first place in the 14 to 15 age group.
