Come To The Table Fundraiser Is May 9

MAYVILLE — Court Appointed Special Advocates of Chautauqua County will hold its 11th annual Come To The Table Fundraiser on Thursday, May 9, at the Chautauqua Inn and Suites in Mayville.

Doors open at 5 p.m. with the live table auction starting at 6:30 p.m. Admission to the event is $10 and includes the chance to win a propane grill and accessories, hors d’euvres, live entertainment by Jamestown High School musicians and several giveaways. Ticket buyers need not be present to win the door prize. The public is invited.

Guests are invited to bid on themed tablescapes during the live auction that have been donated and designed by local CASA supporters. Table themes range from “Under The Big Top” sponsored by Robert Schnizler and “Southern Tier EATS: Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives” to a “Retro Chic Coffee Bar” sponsored by So Very Shari Creations and Truck-Lite. Currently, there are 30 tables up for auction.

The mistress of ceremonies is Leah Gustafson, CASA board member, accompanied by Andy Campbell as the live auctioneer. Tables will be judged and awarded on categories including, most whimsical, most artistic, most original, most elegant and people’s choice. Among this year’s table judges are Cecil Rhoades of Cummins, Krista Camarata of the United Way of Southern Chautauqua County, Eileen Ardillo of the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation and Amy Harding of Lake Shore Savings Bank.

The event is sponsored by SKF, Andy Campbell-Auctioneer, AXA Advisors, Basil Fredonia, Community Bank, Fessenden Laumer and DeAngelo, Hospice of Chautauqua County, Integrated Benefit Solutions, J. Edwards Insurance Agency, Jamestown Awning, Lind Funeral Home, Meridien Energy, Pharmacy Innovations, Mayville Tremaine Insurance, Chautauqua Inn and Suites, The Resource Center, The Trophy House and Wegmans.

At the event, CASA will honor two individuals and one organization for their contributions and support to the program. The Donna Vanstrom Volunteer of the Year Award will be given to Jane Dickerson for her program volunteerism. The CASA Hero Award will be given to Victoria Patti, former board member, for her years of leadership to the program. The Friends of the Community Award will be given to Cummins for its commitment and support given to area nonprofits and the CASA program.

Tickets to the event are $10 and can be purchased from any CASA board member, at the door or by calling CASA. All money raised from Come to the Table are used to fulfill CASA’s mission of supporting volunteers who advocate for abused and neglected children in Chautauqua County.
