Humane Society’s Pennies 4 Paws Event Kicks Off Tuesday

The Chautauqua County Humane Society announced that the 14th annual Pennies 4 Paws campaign that will be kicking off Tuesday and will run through the end of April. This campaign will benefit the animals at CCHS significantly by providing essential care and rehabilitation to animals in need of services offered by CCHS.

In 2018, the humane society helped over 4,000 animals with a variety of needs including food, shelter, medical care, and training supplies. CCHS bears the financial burden that arises from the cost of these services.

“The cost of owning a pet can add up, CCHS is caring for over 120 animals on any given day,” said Brian Papalia, community relations director. “From the cost of food and medical care to the rising cost of animal care, the financial load can be overwhelming.”

The Pennies 4 Paws campaign hopes to collect 1.5 million pennies, or $15,000, by the end of the campaign. Pennies 4 Paws is sponsored by Happy Hounds Hotel and Day Spa, the Media One Radio Group (SE-93, 101.9 WHUG, 103.1 The Fox, 106.9 Kiss FM, 1240am & 101.3 FM WJTN and 1340am WKSN), Bayer, and 2nd Chances Thrift Store. CCHS encourages schools, social organizations, individuals and businesses to fundraise in a variety of ways including bake sales, school hat days, dress down days, pop bottle/can drives and other special events. Collection containers are also available if they are needed by any fundraising group. Although pennies are the most common, CCHS accepts any and all monetary donations. Donations can also be made at SPCAPETS.COM.
