Westfield Senior Citizens To Hold Next Meeting Feb. 10

WESTFIELD — Twenty-six members attended the Westfield Senior Citizens’ December meeting at the Westfield YWCA.

Angel ornaments and candy were at each place as gifts from Pat Sciarrino, group president.

The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance. Shirley Kolpien read a short story. Sciarrino read, “Always remember — every time an angel appears, they announce, ‘Don’t be afraid.'”

November minutes were read and accepted. The treasurer’s report was read and accepted.

Delores Kaufman reported birthdays for Darla Augur and Betty Wilson. Members wished Judy Sumption well after her surgery.

Installation of officers was led by Shirley Kolpien. They are: Pat Sciarrino, president; Dave Cochran, vice president; Pat Everts, treasurer; and Ann Cochran, secretary.

There will be no meeting in January. The next luncheon meeting is at noon Feb. 10. Sciarrino will set up a schedule for kitchen committees. Joyce will step down as chairman. Members should bring a dish to pass and their table service, including cups and glasses.

Pauline Emilson puts the club calendar on the internet at westfield.com. Emilson led the group in singing Christmas songs and was accompanied by Dr. Linda Phillips on keyboard. A gift exchange ended the meeting.
