SINCLAIRVILLE — The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is adding to its work helping and supporting people in its school and community by extending their kindness to animals.

League members are a group of students who were hand-selected by staff members at Sinclairville Elementary School. Staff members were asked to recommend fourth- and fifth-grade boys who demonstrated exemplary leadership, kindness, and cooperation skills.

In November, league members organized and facilitated a community and school pet supply drive. Teachers, students and community members donated items such as, food, treats, bedding and toys throughout the month of November. League members collected and organized these pet supplies and donated them to the Chautauqua County Humane Society in Jamestown.

The league’s volunteer acts extended to the month of December with a food can drive. League members collected and organized all of the donated food, which totaled five truckloads to the local food pantry in Sinclairville.

For more information on League of Extraordinary Gentlemen events, visit the Cassadaga Valley Central School District Facebook page. Ideas the youth are discussing include a book drive for children in need of books and literacy skills and they are already planning for the faculty and staff car wash in June.
