Princesses, superheroes and cartoon characters marched, danced, laughed and filled the Love Elementary School gymnasium with holiday spirit at the school’s annual pajama party.

The holiday tradition began over 14 years ago when teacher, Roslyn Sisley-Kazelunas saw a similar event on the Oprah show that sparked her interest. Mrs. Sisley-Kazelunas coordinates the pajama drive each year where Love School staff and the local community donate pajamas and money so that every child in the school receives a new pair right before the holiday break.

“We gave away 365 pajamas this year and the kids loved it!” said Mrs. Sisley-Kazelunas. “It brings great joy to the children and the staff at Love School during the holiday season.”

In addition to receiving the pajamas, the students showed off their new pajamas with a parade, songs in the gymnasium, treats and a movie. A group from Dancing with Victoria came to share holiday dancing and singing with the students.

“Wow! These pajamas are so adorable and will keep me warm and cozy at night!” said a student in Mrs. Sisley-Kazelunas class.

Thank you to Moonlight Electric of Jamestown, Allen Park Women’s Club, The Blackwell Chape, and several sororities from the area for their generous donations to the pajama drive.
