Auxiliary Hosts Food Drive For Mayville Food Pantry

CHAUTAUUA — The Chautauqua Fire Department Auxiliary participated in “Make a Difference Day 2018” recently by again hosting a food drive to replenish the Mayville Food Pantry.

Area residents donated financial donations as well as about 1,000 pounds of food and hygiene products. This drive helped refill the food pantry’s shelves of much-needed items.

The Mayville Food Pantry, located at the Cheryl H. Steinbach Outreach Center, 99 S. Erie St., Mayville, is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and serves the Chautauqua Lake Central School District. The St. Paul’s Thrift Shop is also located at the same location and is open Monday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Volunteers, many of whom are RSVP volunteers, donate many hours of their time to keep the food pantry and thrift shop running. Donations of food items and monetary donations are always accepted at the food pantry. Check donations to the pantry should be made payable to the St. Paul’s Episcopal Food Pantry, the pantry’s official name.
