Reg Lenna To Show Movies

Spike Lee’s biographical comedy-drama “BlacKKKlansman” will show today, at 7 p.m. at the Reg Lenna Center for The Arts.

A lighthearted documentary about Maggie Smith and Judi Dench — “Tea with the Dames” — shows Saturday, d at 8 p.m. Admission for both films is $5.

“BlacKKKlansman” is the true story of Ron Stallworth (John David Washington), the first African-American detective to serve in the Colorado Springs Police Department. Determined to make a name for himself, Stallworth sets out on a mission to infiltrate and expose the Ku Klux Klan. The young detective soon recruits a more seasoned colleague, Flip Zimmerman (Adam Driver), into the undercover investigation of a lifetime.

Together, they team up to take down the extremist hate group as the organization aims to sanitize its violent rhetoric to appeal to the mainstream. “BlacKKKlansman” is rated R and is 136 minutes long.

In “Tea with the Dames,” Dames Eileen Atkins, Judi Dench, Joan Plowright and Maggie Smith let the cameras in on a friendship that goes back more than half a century.

The four acting greats discuss their careers and reminisce about their humble beginnings in the theatre.

“Tea with the Dames” is unrated and is 94 minutes long.
