Home Attic Damaged By Fire In Cherry Creek Thursday

CHERRY CREEK — Chautauqua County fire investigators were summoned after a fire broke out in the attic of a home Thursday morning.

Several volunteer fire departments were called to help douse the blaze, reported at 665 Southside Ave. in Cherry Creek around 11:40 a.m. The occupants were able to escape the fire, though an ambulance was requested for possible injuries to the homeowner, fire officials told Chautauqua County fire dispatch.

Firefighters from Cherry Creek and Ellington were initially called to the scene. Shortly after crews arrived additional first responders were requested, including county fire coordinators and firefighters from Kennedy, Fluvanna, Sinclairville, South Dayton, Leon and Conewango.

Fire investigator were called to help determine the cause of the blaze. No further information was immediately available.
