Dawson Metal Company Announces Scholarship Winners

Dawson Metal Company announced its College Scholarship winners for the 2018 year. The Jamestown-based company has awarded these scholarships annually to deserving college-bound students of its employees since 1980.

The applications are reviewed by an outside party. This year, retired educator Shirley Daly reviewed the applications and announced the award winners.

They are:

¯ Jillian Ullman, the daughter of Dawson Metal Employee Ken Ullman of Allegany, will be a freshman at St. Bonaventure University pursuing a career in secondary education to become a science teacher.

¯ Kayle Marsh, the daughter of employee Jeff Marsh, of Randolph, will be attending Slippery Rock University with the goal of becoming a pharmacist.

¯ Kristin Johnson, the daughter of employee Andy Johnson of Ashville, will be a senior at SUNY Fredonia and is studying for a career in art.

¯ Tristan Desnerck, son of employee Shawn Desnerck of Lakewood, will be attending SUNY Fredonia, with the goal of becoming a high school teacher and coach.
