Ned Lindstrom, president of the Chautauqua Talks Toastmasters Club, recently coordinated a speaking course to help visitors and members to improve their speaking skills.

“Speaking skills are some of the best tools to communicate at work, in the community or with family and friends,” Lindstrom said.

Participants worked on the ability to organize thoughts and get the message across.

Lindstrom invites anyone who wishes to improve their speaking skills in the next six months to stop by the next Chautauqua Talks Toastmasters Club meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, in the Prendergast Library’s Fireplace Room. Lindstrom and the club planned and coordinated the sessions and are working on other avenues to present better speaking skills in the near future.

Loren Mayshark received the Certificate of Accomplishment for the six-week training sessions presented by Urial Ben-Itzhak, chapter vice president, and Lindstrom.

The Chautauqua Talks Toastmasters Club is a nonprofit organization that meets at 7 p.m. the first and third Tuesday of each month in the Prendergast Library’s Fireplace Room, 509 Cherry St, Jamestown.
