Panama Churches Host School Bash

PANAMA — The Panama United Methodist Church and the Panama Baptist Church will again host a Back To School Bash for the Panama community from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, at Panama Central School.

Event organizers try to supply children attending Panama Central School in the universal pre-kindergarten program through sixth grade with new backpacks and school supplies so that young children in the community have the supplies they need for school.

There will be games, snack food and drinks, and information tables of interest to families. The 4-H and scouting programs will be on site to provide information on how to get involved in their organizations. The county Health Department will be on hand to give out information on healthy eating and avoiding ticks. Other organizations in the county as well as the Sheriff’s Department and the local firemen will also be there to offer safety tips and encourage children to make good decisions.

Panama Central School personnel will also be at the event to answer questions about school procedures and activities. The school support group, Parents For Panama, will be on hand to talk about their activities and how parents can be involved in the school.

Every family in the Panama Central School District with children in universal pre-kindergarten through sixth grade is welcome to attend. For more information, call Carol Hay at 761-6572.

Starting at $3.50/week.
