Local Author, Composer To Participate In Gallery Events
Jill Mattson
Jill Mattson, a Chautauqua resident, author and composer, will participate in several upcoming gallery nights.
The first is Thursday, July 26, a tour of nine art galleries from Westfield to Lakewood on the Route 394 art corridor. She will be at the Living Glass Gallery in Westfield from 6 to 8 p.m. and is teaching a course entitled “Music and Meditation” Friday at the Chautauqua Institution. On Aug. 3 from 5 to 8 p.m., Mattson will do a book and CD signing at the Living Glass Gallery in Westfield. On Aug. 4, from 10 a.m. to noon, she will give a free class relating colors and artistic elements to emotions health and music also at the Living Glass Gallery in Westfield
Mattson is a four -time author. Her book, “The Lost Waves of Time” was named Best Book of 2016 by People’s Choice and Industry Leader’s Choice and Best Alternative Science book of 2016 by the COVR Awards sponsored by the International New Age Trade Show Association. Her writings explore the scientific, mathematical and historic use of sounds, frequencies, harmonics, rhythms and musical intervals for health and personal benefits. Mattson’s lectures, workshops, tele-seminars, radio shows and magazine articles reach an international audience. Mattson has also composed, performed and produced nine CDs. She performs violin, piano vocals and a multitude of other musical instruments, after composing the music and creating each instrument’s part.
