Canoe, Kayak Poker Run Set For Saturday

The inaugural Canoe and Kayak Poker Run presented by the Northwest Arena and Evergreen Outfitters will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 28, in Jamestown.

The event is sponsored by Smith Boys of Chautauqua, Media One Group, Landmark Chevrolet and the Jamestown Cycle Shop. The event will feature a day full of paddling, snacks and prizes.

The adventure begins at McCrae Point, with sign-ins available between 9 and 11 a.m. Participants will collect cards as they make their way up to Celeron’s Lucille Ball Memorial Park and back to McCrae Point for a noon party and the 3 p.m. prize giveaway. Prizes include a full-day boat rental from Smith Boys of Chautauqua Inc. and four one-day passes to Waldameer Park.

The registration fee is $25 and includes entry into the kayak and canoe poker run, a game card and Ziploc bag, small bag for trash, bottled water and snacks. Those interested can register online, over the phone, by mail or in person before the event. Paddlers in need of a canoe or kayak can call Evergreen Outfitters at 723-2266.
