The Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue Dog of the Week is Remy, an active, spayed female who is guessed to be a boxer/mastiff mix and who would prefer to be a family’s only dog. She loves belly rubs, long walks and play time and she keeps a neat kennel. The shelter is located at 7540 N. Gale St., Westfield, and is open from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday or by appointment by calling 326-7297. Many of the dogs can be seen online at www.caninerescue.org. The shelter will host an open house on Saturday from noon to 3 p.m.
