AMHERST — Two area students who were part of Daemen College’s 2018 graduating class were honored during the college’s annual Excellence Awards Ceremony as part of the college’s commencement weekend activities.

“This annual ceremony is a longstanding Daemen tradition to celebrate our highest-achieving graduating students who have excelled academically and contributed so much to our college community,” said Gary Olson, Daemen president.

Kirstie Hanson of Jamestown won the Student of Distinction Award in the Health Promotion program while Jessica Mjoen of Silver Creek received the Excellence in Student Achievement award in the Visual and Performing Arts department.
