‘Beauty And The Beast’ Auditions To Be Held

SALAMANCA — The Cattaraugus County Living Arts Association will hold auditions for its production of “Beauty and the Beast,” to be performed in August at Salamanca’s Ray Evans Seneca Theater.

Auditions for the show will be held from 2-8 p.m. Saturday, May 19, and Sunday, May 20, and from 6-9 p.m. Monday May 21, at the theater.

The musical, a stage adaption of the 1991 Disney film, tells the story of a prince, transformed into a beast. Seeking to return to a prince, he strives to earn the love of the girl he has captured in his castle, in order to do so. The musical showcases music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice and tells the story from the book by Linda Woolverton.

Not only are cast member desired for the performance, but those who would rather help with set, programs, advertising and more are also welcome to help and asked to call Linda Freaney, association board president, at 945-1996.

The show will be performed the first two weekends of August at the Salamanca theater, 10 Main St. Tickets are $15 and are available through showclix.com or at the door.
