Brandy Cochrane Gives Westfield Girl Scouts A Cupcake Crash-Course

WESTFIELD — Members of Westfield Girl Scout Troop 20173 recently visited Cakes by Brandy on Main Street, Westfield.

“It’s always important for our girls to see examples of successful women in our community,” said Patty Bowen, leader of Westfield’s Junior Girl Scout Troop 20173. “Brandy Cochrane’s bakery is a Main Street success.”

Mrs. Cochrane owns Cakes By Brandy and the scouts visited her shop as part of their Simple Meals badge work recently. She taught the girls how to decorate cupcakes, step by step. They each left with four cupcakes of their own — a witch, a ghost, Minnie Mouse and a unicorn.

Mrs. Cochrane was assisted by her young daughter, who has begun her own scout journey this year as a Daisy Scout.

“It was so nice of Brandy to help our girls do their badge work. She welcomed us warmly and shared her talents,” said Wendy Graham, assistant leader. “We are so thankful to her for taking the time with us.”

The scouts — Savannah Frudd, Brooke Luce, Lillian Hafner, Lilly Teeter, Desiree Bowen and Grace Graham — are fourth-graders at Westfield Academy and Central School and Cassadaga Valley.

Starting at $2.99/week.
