Randolph Grads Meet For 45-Year Reunion
RANDOLPH — The largest graduating class from Randolph Central School reunited recently for their 45-year class reunion. The informal gathering was held at the Randolph American Legion Pavilion.
Janet Stahley Huntington, chairwoman for the event, welcomed the 22 classmates, including some who hadn’t attended a reunion in the past. A moment of silence was recognized for the eight classmates who had passed since the last reunion: Sandy and Susan Deren, Tom Stone, Bruce Valentine, Doug Redington, David Carkson, Howard Ireland and Dan Turney. Huntington mentioned that memorials had been sent to their respective charities in their memory.
Table decorations of red and white were made by Deb Barber Farr. Huntington brought two scrapbooks for viewing, which included many mementos of the group’s years at Randolph Central School.
A picnic dinner was provided by A to Z Catering of Randolph. The evening continued with tunes of the 1970s which were provided by Tom Visker.
A discussion was entertained about the 50th reunion. Everyone agreed that the more relaxed setting was a good fit.
The committee included Tom Visker, Joanne McGraw and Deborah Barber Farr. A total of 35 people in all participated, with guests present from New York, Ohio and Tennessee.
