Preparations are underway for a Cattaraugus County Living Arts Association production sure to take theater-goers back to a time of leather jackets and bobby-socks.

“Grease, the Musical,” will be performed at 2 p.m. Sunday and Aug. 13 at Salamanca’s Ray Evans Seneca Theater, 10 Main St. and at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 11 and 12. Tickets are available through www.showclix.com/rayevanssenecatheater and at the door and cost $15.

The 37-member cast will include Aline Wintermantel of Allegany as Sandy, and Austin Schapp will play Danny when the nostalgic rock-n-roll musical takes its audience back to the 1950s at Rydell High School and the romance of its halls. The production will be directed by Todd Wagner; book, music and lyrics by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey.

Special arrangement presented by Samuel French Inc. “Hopelessly Devoted to You,” and “You’re the One that I want,” by arrangement with Robert Sherwood.

Audiences will be able to toe-tap to classic hits such as “You’re the One that I Want,” “Grease is the Word,” and more with the help of the hot-rodding Pink Ladies.
