BEMUS POINT – Career and Technical Education student Alexander Miller, a senior from Maple Grove High School in the Construction Technology class at the Hewes Educational Center in Ashville, is the 2017 recipient of the Kip Feinen Memorial Award for $500. Former Hewes Principal Christopher C. “Kip” Feinen passed away unexpectedly in March 2016.
Miller was feted during a special presentation hosted by the Wellness Committee of the Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES at the Bemus Point Inn on Wednesday, June 21.
Miller met the criteria for the award by demonstrating he is a self-starter; has a strong work ethic and leadership skills; inspires others to reach their potential and possesses the ability to overcome personal obstacles.
