Molly Woodfield was recognized as Teacher of the Year in teaching Americanism and Patriotism to her students in Jamestown Public Schools.

She won at the local, county and Sixth District VFW level in Erie, Cattaraugus-Allegany and Chautauqua counties, in the elementary division. She was honored at the Sixth District VFW and Auxiliary Commander’s and President’s Dinner recently at Hamburg VFW Post 1419. Woodfield is an art teacher at Fletcher Elementary School in Jamestown and was nominated by a co-worker for promoting citizenship and patriotism in her classroom.

The recognition required review of Woodfield’s professional resume and professional experience as well as consideration/compassion for the veterans and the letters her students provided to the Blue Star Mothers.
