Maple Grove’s ‘Anything Goes’ Nominated For Kennys
On May 13, Maple Grove will perform “Anything Goes” at Shea’s after being nominated for the 2017 Kenny Awards.
Maple Grove High School’s production of “Anything Goes” has been nominated for the 2017 Kenny Awards, an award show presented by Shea’s Performing Arts Center and the Lipke Foundation that recognizes and honors area high school students for their outstanding talent and commitment to musical theatre.
Maple Grove was selected through an application and interview process. The cast of “Anything Goes” was nominated for Outstanding Dance Performance, Outstanding Dramatic Performance, Outstanding Scenic Design, Outstanding Choral Performance and Outstanding Costume Design.
In addition, three actors from the cast were nominated for their individual performance. Nominees include Grace Auer (Reno Sweeney), who was nominated for Outstanding Actress in a Leading Role, Paige Cummings (Erma Latour), who was nominated for Outstanding Actress in a Supporting Role, and Brandon Reagle (Moonface Martin), who was nominated for Outstanding Actor in a Supporting Role.
On May 13, Maple Grove will perform at Shea’s alongside their nine competitors. During the day, the students will be participating in workshops with professionals from the area, and at 6 p.m. the winners will be announced at the ceremony. The overall winner will receive a grand prize of $5,000 that will strictly go towards their music department.
