Former Local Students Named For College Academic Honors

ANGELI — Sonia Angeli of Jamestown was named to the dean’s list at Niagara University for the fall 2016 semester. To qualify, students must attain a 3.25 academic grade-point average for the semester.

ANTHOLZNER — Courtney Antholzner of Little Valley, a senior majoring in civil engineering, has been named a Presidential Scholar for the fall 2016 semester at Clarkson University. Presidential Scholars must achieve a minimum 3.80 grade-point average and carry at least 14 credit hours.

DELCALZO — Andre M. Delcalzo of Bemus Point has been named to the Fall 2017 Chancellor’s Honor Rolls at the University of Tennessee at Martin To be eligible for Chancellor’s Honor Roll recognition at UT Martin, a student must take at least 12 hours of credit and achieve a 3.2 grade point average based on a 4.0 scale.

DEPPAS — Morgan Deppas of Jamestown is a fall 2016 graduate of Kent State University. She earned a bachelor’s degree in the arts.

FISCHER — Joshua Fischer, a 2015 graduate of Falconer Central School and son of Chris and Brenda Fischer, was named to the dean’s list with honors at the State University at Brockport for the fall 2016 semester.

FISH — Kayla Fish of Falconer was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2016 semester at Kent State University. Undergraduate students who obtain a 3.4 grade-point average or higher while maintaining 12 or more credit hours during the spring qualify to be on the list.

HEIL — Elizabeth (Libby) Heil has been named to the dean’s list for the 2016 fall semester at Mount Vernon Nazarene University. Heil is a freshman majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She is a 2016 graduate of Clymer Central School, and the daughter of Eric Heil of Clymer and Kathy Nyweide of Clymer.

KEHOE — Micah Kehoe of Randolph has been cited for academic achievement for the Fall 2016 semester at the State University at Delhi. Kehoe, who is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in architectural design and building, has qualified for the Dean’s List. To qualify for the SUNY Delhi Dean’s List, a student must have an academic average of 3.50 or higher within the semester.

LACHNER — Jessica S. Lachner of Jamestown was named to the dean’s list at Niagara University for the fall 2016 semester. To qualify, students must attain a 3.25 academic grade-point average for the semester.

MAGER — Emily Rose Mager of Frewsburg was named to the dean’s list at Niagara University for the fall 2016 semester. To qualify, students must attain a 3.25 academic grade-point average for the semester.

MACDONALD — Megan R. MacDonald of Jamestown, a senior majoring in global supply chain management, was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2016 semester at Clarkson University. Dean’s list students must achieve a minimum 3.25 grade-point average and also carry at least 14 credit hours.

MCFALL — Brianna McFall of Falconer has been named to the D’Youville College Deans List. To qualify, students must have maintained a quality point average of 3.40 or above for the previous semester. McFall is majoring in the ESS program.

MCFALL — Shannon McFall of Falconer has been named to the D’Youville College Deans List. To qualify, students must have maintained a quality point average of 3.40 or above for the previous semester. McFall is majoring in the physician assistant program.

NAZZARO — Matthew Nazzaro, a sophomore at the University of Buffalo, has been named to the Deans List for the Fall 2016 with a 4.0 grade-point average. Nazzaro is a Bio/Chem major in the Honors Program. Nazzaro 2015 graduate of Jamestown High School and is the son of Chuck and Sharon Nazzaro.

NELSON — Bemus Point resident Patrick Nelson earned a spot on the University of Dayton’s fall 2016 dean’s list, which honors undergraduate students achieving a minimum 3.5 GPA for the semester.

NOWICKI — Calvin Nowicki of Jamestown, a Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering major, was named to the honors list for the fall 2016 semester at St. Francis University.

PARDUE — Sarah Pardue of Jamestown was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2016 semester at Kent State University. Undergraduate students who obtain a 3.4 grade-point average or higher while maintaining 12 or more credit hours during the spring qualify to be on the list.

RAIMONDO — Chiara Maria Raimondo of Jamestown was named to the dean’s list at Niagara University for the fall 2016 semester. To qualify, students must attain a 3.25 academic grade-point average for the semester.

RADKA — Patrick Radka of Panama, a junior majoring in civil engineering, has been named a Presidential Scholar for the fall 2016 semester at Clarkson University. Presidential Scholars must achieve a minimum 3.80 grade-point average and carry at least 14 credit hours.

SANDBERG — Mitchell Sandberg of Bemus Point was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2016 semester at Kent State University. Undergraduate students who obtain a 3.4 grade-point average or higher while maintaining 12 or more credit hours during the spring qualify to be on the list.

SCARPINO — Laurie E. Scarpino of Jamestown was named to the dean’s list at Niagara University for the fall 2016 semester. To qualify, students must attain a 3.25 academic grade-point average for the semester.

SCHUTT — Allie Schutt of Sugar Grove was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2016 semester at Kent State University. Undergraduate students who obtain a 3.4 grade-point average or higher while maintaining 12 or more credit hours during the spring qualify to be on the list.

SCHUTTE — Kara Schutte of Lakewood has been named to the president’s list at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Students who are ranked in the top three percent of undergraduate students within each division for first semester 2016-17 have been named to the president’s list recognizing academic excellence.

SCHUTTE — Ryan Schutte, a senior economics major at Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa., has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2016 semester. A graduate of Southwestern High School, he is the son of Doug and Lisa Schutte of Lakewood. All students earning a position on the dean’s list must have a grade-point average of 3.7 or above on a 4.0 GPA scale for the semester.

SEIBERT — Christine Seibert of Cassadaga has been named to the D’Youville College Deans List. To qualify, students must have maintained a quality point average of 3.40 or above for the previous semester. Seibert is majoring in the ESS/PT program.

STAHLSMITH — Megan Stahlsmith of Mayville has been named to the president’s list at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Students who are ranked in the top three percent of undergraduate students within each division for first semester 2016-17 have been named to the president’s list recognizing academic excellence.

SWIDERSKI — Andrea Swiderski, a 2016 Jamestown High School graduate, has made the Dean’s List at Colby College in Maine. To make the Dean’s List, students must take at least 15 credits and earn a GPA that is in the top 30 percent of Colby students. Swiderski was in the top 10 percent with a GPA of 3.95.

TURCOTTE — Anna Turcotte of Ashville was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2016 semester at Kent State University. Undergraduate students who obtain a 3.4 grade-point average or higher while maintaining 12 or more credit hours during the spring qualify to be on the list.

YARTZ — Leigh Yartz, a graduate of Southwestern Central High School, has been named to the Dean’s List for the fall semester at The College of Wooster. Yartz, a junior political science major from Lakewood, achieved a grade point average of 3.65 or above.
