Cassadaga To Host Labor Day Festival
CASSADAGA – The Cassadaga Labor Day Festival will be Sept. 3-4 in the village.
Activities on Saturday, Sept. 3, include an arts and crafts show from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Ames Common, a parade at 4 p.m. on Maple Avenue, the Ducky Derby at 5 p.m. on the bridge at Maple Avenue (ducks are available from any Cassadaga Lakes Association member or during the arts and crafts show) and the Kokomo Time Band will perform at 6:30 p.m. on the new floating stage at Cassadaga Beach. Those attending can come by boat or bring a chair or blanket. The Kiwanis hot dog wagon will be there selling food.
Sunday, Sept. 4, events include a bicycle dice run at 1 p.m. starting at Cassadaga Beach and riding around 3.1 miles around Cassadaga Lake. There will be prizes. Those ages 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. The boat parade will be held at 3:30 p.m., with entrants assembling at 3 p.m. at the DEC boat launch at 3 p.m. on Dale Drive. Any type of boat is welcome to participate. The parade has a patriotic theme. The Marauder Steel Drum Band will perform at 4 p.m. on the new floating stage at Cassadaga Beach. Come by boat or bring a chair or blanket.
