STOCKTON – Virginia Darling, well known in the Frewsburg area, will be celebrating her 100th birthday on March 24. The Stockton Star Rebekah Lodge 395 is commemorating Virginia’s 100th birthday with a card shower at the March 14 meeting. Local residents are asked to send a card to mark the occasion to Stockton Star Rebekah Lodge 395, P.O. Box 112, Stockton, NY 14784.
Virginia lived on Dodge Road, Frewsburg, with her late husband Bob Darling for many years. She has two daughters, the late Beulah Murphy of Frewsburg and Sylvia Wilson of Westmore, Kan. She has seven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Virginia is a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Frewsburg. She worked more than 75 years for the Board of Elections. She also took census of the children and of the dogs of Frewsburg.
Virginia belonged to the Sunny Brook Rebekah Lodge 507 before it consolidated with Stockton Star Rebekah Lodge 395. She joined the Rebekahs in 1942, and has held many positions in the organization.
Virginia is well-known for her delicious pies.
Virginia keeps asking, “Why am I still here?” The Rebekahs answer, “Your work is not done.”
The goal is 100 cards.
