The Mozart Club enjoyed a performance by pianist Kathryn O’Hagan, pictured at right, and violinist Jonna Lampard on Wednesday, Jan. 20, at the Marvin House. The program consisted of various arrangements of favorite hymns on the piano as well as the “Minuet in G” by Ludwig von Beethoven, a Gavotte from “Mignon,” and traditional Irish folk songs for violin and piano accompaniment. O’ Hagan, who studied piano with Helga Hulse, among others, gave detailed descriptions of the origins of the hymns and their arrangements. Lampard, violinist and niece of O’Hagan, studied Suzuki method with Nina Karbaka at an early age and also studied recently with Marjorie Cooper. The next Mozart Club meeting will be on Wednesday, Feb. 10, at 1:30 p.m. with coffee at 2:30 at the Marvin House. Featured will be soprano Marika Koch with pianist Rosemary MacKown.
