SUNY Fredonia Awards Scholarships To Area Students
FREDONIA – The State University at Fredonia recently awarded scholarship to several area students for the 2015-16 academic year.
Scholarships are made possible by private donors and foundations, most of whom made gifts to the Fredonia College Foundation. Among the new scholarship recipients are the following students from Chautauqua County:
BEMUS POINT
Paige Jones of Bemus Point, a junior majoring in theater production and design, has received the Ann James Manly Scholarship for $500 and the Mary and Steve Rees Rising Junior Award for Technical Production for $650.
CASSADAGA
Kristal Zarczynski of Cassadaga, a freshman majoring in early childhood education, has received the A.J. Patti Memorial Scholarship for $350.
DUNKIRK
Yadira Bautista of Dunkirk, a junior majoring in criminal justice, has received the Roger C. Seager Presidential Scholarship for $750.
Alexia Bowden of Dunkirk, a freshman majoring in biology, has received the Fredonia Promise Award for $1,500/renewable for 4 years.
John Cole of Dunkirk, a junior majoring in music education, has received the Thomas F. Morrissey Scholarship for $900.
Emily Karalus of Dunkirk, a freshman majoring in liberal arts, has received the Fredonia 3-1-3 Scholarship for $1,000.
Jared Mets of Dunkirk, a freshman majoring in cooperative engineering, has received the Foundation Academic Scholarship for $1,000.
Marissa Michalski of Dunkirk, a junior majoring in communication disorders and sciences, has received the Lt. General Woods Scholarship for $1083 and the Zola Graf Scholarship for $800.
FALCONER
Michael Earle of Falconer, a freshman majoring in sound recording technology, has received the Fredonia Promise Award for $1,500/renewable for 4 years.
FORESTVILLE
Shamus O’Connor of Forestville, a sophomore majoring in physics/cooperative engineering, has received the Faculty/Staff Scholarship for $500.
FREDONIA
Alexander Crise of Fredonia, a senior majoring in applied mathematics, has received the Arthur R. Maytum Scholarship for $925, Grandchildren of Alumni for $300, Wal-Mart Scholarship for $825 and the Frank R. Olson Scholarship for $1200.
Alexander Dimitri of Fredonia, a sophomore majoring in biochemistry, has received the Fredonia President’s Science/Math Scholarship for $6,000, Children of Alumni Scholarship for $1,000 and the Faculty/Staff Scholarship for $500.
Olivia Kaltenbach of Fredonia, a junior majoring in communication disorders and sciences, has received the Marion Sonnenfeld Scholarship for $1,925, Lt. General Woods Scholarship for $1,083 and the Walter Gotowka Endowment for $700.
Karrah Monsour of Fredonia, a sophomore majoring in social work, has received the Residence Life Transfer Award for $1,000.
Jasmine Mills of Fredonia, a freshman majoring in sound recording technology, has received the Welch’s/National Scholarship for $1,500, Dr W. Clarke and Lucile Harkness Pfleeger Music Scholarship for $450 and the Fredonia Dean’s Scholar Award for $2,000.
Kristen Reinhardt of Fredonia, a senior majoring in early childhood education, has received the Zola Graf Scholarship for $800, Undergraduate Alumni Association for $1,000 and the Byron F. & Carrie L. Record Endowment for $675.
Michaela Tramuta of Fredonia, a sophomore majoring in musical theatre, has received the Faculty/Staff Scholarship for $500 and the Children of Alumni Scholarship for $1,000.
JAMESTOWN
Zachary Eklum of Jamestown, a senior majoring in biology, has received the Fiat Lux (Let there be light) Scholarship for $3,875.
Morgan Steele of Jamestown, a freshman majoring in biology, has received the President’s Science/Math Scholarship for $4,000.
Mikaela Swanson of Jamestown, a junior majoring in business administration, has received the Residence Life Transfer Student Scholarship for $1,000.
LAKEWOOD
Mackenzie Stevenson of Lakewood, a freshman majoring in early childhood education, has received the Fredonia Dean’s Scholar Award for $2,000/renewable for 4 years.
SILVER CREEK
Brendan Bardo of Silver Creek, a freshman majoring in biology, has received the Fredonia Dean’s Scholar Award for $2,000/renewable for 4 years.
Scott Downey of Silver Creek, a junior majoring in English and journalism, has received the S.C.W. Hom Parent Scholarship for $50 and the Barbara Rose Memorial Scholarship for $350.
SOUTH DAYTON
Trenten Merrill of South Dayton, a freshman majoring in history, has received the Fredonia 3-1-3 Scholarship for $1,000, Fredonia University Honors Award for $1,500 and the David H. Carnahan Scholarship for $1,800.
WESTFIELD
Andrew Abbey of Westfield, a junior majoring in history, has received the MacPhee Scholarship for $300.
Christopher Cockram of Westfield, a freshman majoring in music education, has received the Fredonia Dean’s Scholar Award for $2,000/renewable for 4 years.
Kaitlyn Meegan of Westfield, a freshman majoring in English education, has received the Fredonia Promise Award for $1,500 and the Private Scholarship 1 for $5,250.
Joseph Marshall of Westfield, a junior majoring in biochemistry, has received the Leslie J. & Ethel H. Shaw Community Fund Scholarship for $1,000.
