Job Corps Announces LPN, CNA Class
CASSADAGA – Job Corps is currently accepting applications for the next BOCES School of Practical Nursing class, set to begin in early August.
Individuals who are 18-24 years old, have a high school diploma or equivalency, and possess some patient-centered health care experience are encouraged to apply by June 19. Applicants must meet age and income criteria to qualify for the class, offered at Job Corps, and must also demonstrate they are committed to completing the rigorous 12-month training program to prepare for their NCLEX exam to become a licensed practical nurse.
All individuals enrolled in Job Corps attending the LPN program will receive a scholarship to attend the program that will pay the balance of tuition, books, uniforms and class-related costs after financial aid awards are applied. In addition, Job Corps will also provide licensing and testing fees upon graduation from the program. In addition to the LPN class, the academy offers recurring CNA classes all year. Applicants are encouraged to get a jump-start on their career by training in the summer and entering the workforce in the fall. Job Corps health care programs are a mix of classroom theory and hands-on clinical experience to ensure graduates are ready to enter the field with patient experience. In addition to the health care programs at Job Corps, the academy offers classes in construction and security as well as high school equivalency classes for those in need of a diploma.
