Cala Retires From U.S. Army

Lt. Col. Philip M. Cala, a 1998 graduate of Jamestown High School, retired from the United States Army on Aug. 31, 2022, after serving just over 20 years in a variety of stateside and overseas assignments. He received his commission through Army ROTC at Syracuse University on May 12, 2002, and was sworn in as a Second Lieutenant by Major General (Retired) Barclay O. Wellman. His parents are Sharon and Raymond McKotch and Philip and Nancy Cala, all of Jamestown. Cala lives in northern Virginia with his wife, Jen, of 17 years and his four children.
