Chautauqua Art Gallery has acquired the Frame and Glass Shoppe, currently located directly across the street from the gallery at 318 N. Main St., Jamestown.

The strategic move marks the beginning of a new chapter for both establishments and promises an enriched artistic experience for the Jamestown community, according to officials from both businesses. .

After 23 years of service, Dan Gates, the owner of The Frame and Glass Shoppe, has decided to embark on retirement. Entrusting the legacy of his frame shop to Leslie Calimieri, owner of Chautauqua Art Gallery, Gates said he is confident in the continuation of the shop’s tradition of craftsmanship continuing.

“The Frame and Glass Shoppe has been a cornerstone of artistic expression in Jamestown, and we are honored to carry on its legacy,” said Leslie Calimeri, owner of the Chautauqua Art Gallery. “Our goal is to seamlessly integrate the strengths of both establishments, offering an even more comprehensive range of services to our patrons.”

During this transition, customers can expect business as usual at The Frame and Glass Shoppe, with Gates personally overseeing the completion of current orders. Simultaneously, Chautauqua Art Gallery is poised to begin accepting new custom frame orders starting November 20.
