Chautauqua Comics in Jamestown will celebrate Free Comic Book Day on Saturday, May 6.
For the last 21 years, Chautauqua Comics has given away comic books to hundreds of fans to introduce them to the wonders of comics.
“Free Comic Book Day is a great event for the whole community. Bringing everyone together, finding books for everyone to enjoy, and seeing people of all ages — children, teens, and adults — sharing our passion for comics is incredible,” said Al Steffens, owner of Chautauqua Comics. “Even if you’ve never picked up a comic book, we want to welcome everyone to Chautauqua Comics on Saturday, May 6, because there are so many amazing comics this year and we can’t wait to share them.”
This is the 21st year Chautauqua Comics will celebrate Free Comic Book Day, offering the community a fun, family-oriented event where everyone can find a comic they’ll enjoy. As with every year, the business will be raising money for St. Susan soup kitchen. Those who donate $1 can spin the prize wheel and win great prizes.
Chautauqua Comics will be raffling off a sealed booster box of Pokemon and have hourly door prizes. Come in costume and win prizes for best costume.
“With awesome titles like Spider-Man vs Venom, Knight Terrors, Star Wars, Smurfs, Dog Man. Ninja Turtles and much more, we’re sure there’s a comic book for everyone,” Steffens said. “Comics are a fun and enduring form of entertainment for readers of all ages to dive into as imagination comes to life. Whether it be popular comics, film, television shows, or video games, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.”
