“We are very, very fortunate to have Matt and Val as integral parts of our team and leaders in our efforts on being customer focused,” said Bill Andrews, president and managing director. “Their efforts have transformed our sales department and doubled sales. We have a current backlog of $19 million and growing this early in the year and have had a good shipping year as well. With the addition of fused grains there is additional potential for another $5-8 million in sales.”
With this growth, Monofrax has been hiring and plans to continue to fill some key positions in operations and office staffing.
“With the sale of Monofrax to Saint Gobain, we are anticipating even more growth and being introduced to new customers and opportunities,” Andrews said. “We are part of a regional plan for Saint Gobain to support and supply customers in our region, and as a result, our new parent company has plans for immediate investment and growth. This will lead to even further hiring and automation as well as new products and services. When we started the turnaround in 2016, with the sale from RHI, we set a goal of building a strong business that we could sell to somebody that would keep the plant and jobs in Chautauqua County and invest for the future. We believe this achieves that goal.”
