Job Corps Earns Middle States Accreditation

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — The Middle States Association Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools announced recently that Cassadaga Job Corps Center in Cassadaga has earned reaccreditation.

“I congratulate Cassadaga Job Corps Center for achieving reaccreditation,” said Dr. Henry Cram interim president of the Middle States Association Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools. “At Middle States, we recognize that providing high quality career and technical education ensures that future workers are equipped to meet the economic challenges of the 21st century.”

The accreditation process begins with a self-study that is conducted by the school or school system and requires input from school leaders, teachers, parents and students. Following the self-study, a team of volunteer educators from Middle States member schools conducts a peer review.

The peer review team makes its recommendation for accreditation or reaccreditation to the Middle States Association Commissions, which voted at its biannual meeting last month to accredit or reaccredit 201 schools and school systems in 24 states, as well as Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, and 21 other countries. The meeting was held virtually because of the pandemic.

“Middle States accreditation validates our programs and helps our students feel confident that they are making a smart investment in their future,” said Bob Anderson, director of the Cassadaga Job Corps Center. “Preparing students for the workforce is key to their success, and Middle States recognizes this.”
