Fredonia Tech Incubator To Host ‘Recipe For Success’ July 28

DUNKIRK — The Fredonia Technology Incubator will be hosting a workshop entitled “Recipe for Success” with Shannon Prozeller of Cornell Food Venture Center at Cornell University from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 28.

The one-hour introductory workshop will teach food-related entrepreneurs about the basics of food microbiology, processing techniques and regulatory compliance to create a viable food product that can be safely sold in the marketplace. Prozeller received her bachelor of science degree in community health from the State University at Brockport. She began her career in the food industry at Headwater Food Hub in Ontario, N.Y., as director of the Good Food Collective, a year-round food membership program, also acting as director of food safety and supply chain manager, coordinating partnerships with more than 30 farmers and producers throughout the Finger Lakes region. Since 2015, Prozeller has been working with food companies and entrepreneurs at Cornell’s Food Venture Center at Cornell AgriTech in Geneva; a process authority recognized by state and federal regulatory agencies, providing consultation, training, product and process analysis and review for technological feasibility and safety validation of new food products entering the market. Prozeller has completed training in juice, meat, and seafood HACCP programs, SQF Safety and Quality Systems, is a Produce Safety Alliance Trainer in the FSMA Produce Safety Rule and a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual for Human Foods. She is currently studying a Master’s in Public Health at Cornell University.

The Fredonia Technology Incubator is an economic development program of the State University at Fredonia.
