CHQ Opp Offering Essentials Class

Chautauqua Opportunities for Development Inc. is offering an informative workshop for budding and established entrepreneurs in Chautauqua County.

“Small Business Essentials” is an eight-week course covering all issues involved in starting a business and making it successful. The course begins March 26 and runs every Thursday evening until May 14 from 6-8 p.m. at Chautauqua Opportunities Laughlin Community Action Center, 402 Chandler St., Jamestown.

The interactive workshop covers all aspects of getting a new business up and running including creating a business plan, financial planning, filing permits, marketing and insurance. It’s suitable for both the prospective entrepreneur and for those who have been in business for a while and want to review important business essentials.

Class discussions will include, but are not limited to self-assessment, professionalism in business, communicating, planning, marketing, required permits, legal issues, cash flow projections, financial tips and insurance issues.

There may also be presentations given by area professionals with time afterward to answer specific questions.

This workshop is suitable for existing and prospective small business owners who wish to sharpen their business skills. The course costs $50, which includes the cost of the workbook and instructor time.
