New Direction Youth, Family Services Honor Employees

RANDOLPH — New Directions Youth and Family Services closed out 2019 honoring several employees with the agency’s annual “Normative Awards” recognizing employee excellence in the areas of safety, respect, responsibility, goal achievement, all-star and teamwork.

At New Directions, the four norms or standards form the basis of all interactions, creating an internal guide for behavior across settings.

Employees uphold the norms and assist children and families in living the norms. Selections are drawn from a yearlong pool of monthly peer nominations. Recipients of the 2019 Normative Awards are:

¯ Safety: the late John Andrews, assistant youth counselor supervisor.

¯ Respect: Scott Winterburn, intake coordinator.

¯ Responsibility: Sheila Searle, finance department manager.

¯ Goal-Directed: McKenzie Lux, secretary; and Johnah Rowland, human resources assistant.

¯ All Star: Bruce Johnson, unit supervisor.

¯ Teamwork: Randolph campus adventure recreation team

“Normative Awards are an annual tradition that ties our past and present together”, said Jim Coder, New Direction CEO. “We are pleased to honor the dedicated individuals who help us all strive to give our very best and thank them for their service.”

The 2019 honorees received commemorative plaques.
