James N. Olson has joined the public accounting firm of Vanstrom & Company CPA’s of Jamestown.

Olson recently retired from the city of Jamestown as director of administrative services/city clerk, with more than 31 years of service and more than 37 years of local governing experience.

Olson earned his enrolled agent license in 2017, recognizing his technical expertise in the field of taxation and empowering him to represent taxpayers before all administrative levels of the Internal Revenue Service. He has 11 years of tax preparation experience with both individuals and businesses, as well as assisting clients with tax planning strategies.

Olson has an MBA from Saint Bonaventure University and a master’s of taxation degree from Nova Southeastern University. His professional memberships include the National Association of Tax Professionals and the National Association of Enrolled Agents. He resides in Jamestown with his wife, Pam. They have three adult children and three grandchildren
