Truck-Lite System On East Products

FALCONER — Truck-Lite Co., a worldwide leader in LED lighting, telematics, engine protection, safety and visibility systems, has partnered with East Manufacturing to supply the Road Ready trailer telematics system on all flatbed, dump and refuse trailers.

All 2020 East trailer models will come with the option of a master control unit (MCU), which sends regular updates to the Road Ready user interface and provides real-time location via GPS. Data plans and additional sensors will be available through Truck-Lite.

East exhibited its BST flatbed trailer equipped with the Road Ready system at Booth 2519 at the North American Commercial Vehicles show at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Ga. The trailer will feature Road Ready’s hardwired MCU, light-out detection system nosebox and ABS warning sensor. The trailer will also be equipped with PSI’s TireView TPMS, Hendrickson’s TireMaax tire inflation system and SKF’s TraX wheel-end monitor system, which are all compatible with the Road Ready system, as well as LED lighting and 99 Series harness system from Truck-Lite.

“Truck-Lite is pleased to continue its long-term partnership with East, first through harness and lighting systems and now through trailer telematics technology,” said Jon Stineman, Truck-Lite vice president of OEM sales. “Truck-Lite provides the most dependable electrical products to the heavy-duty market and we’re proud to deliver this premium technology to East customers.”

Truck-Lite’s 99 Series harness system has been standard on East’s BST, BST II, MMX and Narrow Neck flatbed trailers since 2018. The system uses a clamp, which serves as the mounting bracket, that wraps around the width of the plug to create a secure connection. Its trapezoidal connection makes for quick and easy installation and achieves proper pin alignment and a positive lock, improving the overall durability of a trailer’s electrical system. East plans to expand the 99 series to refuse and dump trailers by 2020.

“East always strives to be the industry leader in innovation, providing our customers with unsurpassed quality and value with our products,” said Dave Kinsley, East vice president of purchasing.
