Piazza Appointed Chief Officer

Sallie Piazza

Sallie Piazza has been appointed chief nursing officer at Saint Vincent Hospital, effective July 1.

In this role, Piazza will lead nursing and clinical staff in the delivery of patient care, supporting unit-level and hospital-level strategies. She will serve on the Saint Vincent executive leadership team as well as the Allegany Health Network executive nursing team.

“Sallie has a wealth of experience in nursing leadership and we know she will foster a workplace culture that promotes professional growth and development and recognizes accomplishments,” said Chris Clark, Saint Vincent president. “She is also highly committed to taking us through the final phases of Saint Vincent’s Magnet designation. She is an enormous asset to the hospital leadership team.”

A nurse and nursing executive with more than 20 years of experience, Piazza previously served as Saint Vincent’s medical-surgical division director, as well as the hospital’s director for education and professional development. She previously served Brooks Memorial Hospital, where she held a number of leadership roles: including director of quality, nursing and surgical services.

Piazza earned a master’s degree in health care management administration from Ashford University, a bachelor of arts degree from Northeastern College and a bachelor of science in nursing from Alfred State College. Her professional and volunteer affiliations include membership on the Jamestown Community College Advisory Board, in the New York Organization of Nurse Executives, in the American Organization of Nurse Leaders and in the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses.
