DFT Communications Promotes Curtis Reynolds

DFT Communications has promoted Curtis Reynolds, formerly the company’s business sales manager, to business sales engineer.

“We always seek to promote first from within our own,” said Mark R. Maytum, DFT Communications president and COO. “We know what our people are capable of, and when they’ve proven themselves to be hardworking and reliable, there’s always room for growth at DFT.”

Reynolds came to DFT in 2015 after receiving a degree from Edinboro University and working in the wireless technology field for two years. During that time, he gained knowledge to help launch and maintain the DFT Wireless (formerly WiMAX) program.

DFT Wireless provides high speed internet to rural areas through radio signals, rather than a traditional hardwired connection. So far, more than 200 families and businesses who previously had access to only costly, limited alternatives have signed onto this reliable and unlimited broadband subscription. While entering the team at DFT in the wireless arena, Reynolds’ attributes and knowledge quickly flagged him with the potential to grow. In the fall of 2017, he was promoted to business sales manager, overseeing all the business growth initiatives at DFT.

“It was an exciting promotion for me. It gave me the opportunity to focus more on the expansion of our wireless broadband services in Chautauqua County and beyond,” Reynolds said. “At the same time, it allows me to work closely with the sales team to create innovative solutions for our business customers and a wide range of services; from phone services to Wi-Fi systems, low-voltage wiring systems.”

Reynolds now occupies the role of business sales engineer at DFT. His duties include overseeing the business sales division, implementing new wireless builds and services, designing IT management programs for businesses large and small, pricing and planning phone systems, and managing the business security group.

“Curtis has been an integral part of leading DFT into the future of technology,” Maytum said. “His knowledge and foresight into wireless broadband and business sales has built and maintained many of our business relationships; a critical portion of the many telecommunications services we provide.”

Looking to the future, Reynolds has a strong desire to see DFT maintain and secure its reputation as a reliable telecommunications and technology company in this region.

“I see a future of ongoing development of the company and our relationship with a wide-variety of technologies,” Reynolds said. “It’s exciting because I get to be on the leading edge of helping develop the services we are offering and integrating new services with our existing team of account managers and installers.”
