Falconer Business Rand Machine To Host Job Fair

FALCONER — On Saturday, Feb. 23, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Rand Machine will hold a job fair for people interested in learning more about what Rand does and the possibility of pursuing employment at Rand Machine.

In 2016-17, Rand had faced uncertain times and the very real possibility of closing their doors for good. Action was taken to pursue a partnership to save the company, many highly skilled jobs and secure their customers interests. In October 2017, Rand was purchased by Premier Precision Machining and through strong leadership, significant investments in technology, process, people and facilities, Rand is now positioned to take advantage of both existing and new opportunities. Rand is currently looking to hire qualified machinists, CNC mill and lathe operators to join the team.

“Finding and keeping qualified employees is an ongoing challenge,” said Kurt Grimm, president and CEO. “Unfortunately, the country has allowed our particular trade to fall away to almost nothing. When I was a young man, apprenticeship programs were prevalent, it was a common thing, now it’s not that way. Here at Rand, people make very solid wages with benefits and overtime, we work year-round and very good middle-class incomes are earned at this type of company.”

Potential candidates, as well as students looking at a career in manufacturing are invited to attend. There will be a video presentation, tours of the facility, people to talk to about career opportunities and what a career in manufacturing looks like. There will also be pop, beer, wine and food provided.
