FALCONER — Spray Tech Finishing Inc. is a locally-owned business, founded in 1994 by David Dawson of Dawson Metal Company and Harold Andersen of Phoenix Metal Fabricating specializing in custom paint finishing and assembly (Dawson Metal currently has a majority ownership shared between Dawson Metal Co., Phoenix Metal Fabricating and others).

Spray Tech Finishing caters to a community-wide customer base including some of the largest manufacturing companies in the area and offers more services than strictly being a dedicated paint facility. Spray Tech offers assembly, packing and shipping services aside from powder and wet paint application.

“In manufacturing today, companies must constantly upgrade equipment as well as expand their capabilities in order to remain relevant to existing customers as well as attract new customers,” according to Tad Henderson, manager of Spray Tech Finishing.

In recognition of this adage, Spray Tech Finishing, Inc. is proud to announce the addition of a new batch powder coat spray booth and cure oven. This equipment has been manufactured by Fostoria Processing Equipment located in Johnson City, Tenn.

“The need for this equipment was realized as several of our customers’ products require a powder-coated finish having either a multi-coat and/or a multi-colored finish,” Henderson said.

Attempting to apply these custom finishes on an automated paint line proves to be ineffective and is extremely labor intensive, which sacrifices quality and efficiency. The use of a dedicated paint booth and cure oven allows Spray Tech Finishing to dedicate manpower as required to perform these tedious paint applications. The size of our new cure oven is 10-foot wide by 10-foot tall by 15-foot long. The new equipment is also perfect for low volume parts or prototype runs requiring custom masking. With its increased capabilities, Spray Tech Finishing can be more competitive with custom requirements and assist companies whose only other viable vendors are as far away as Rochester or Punxsutawney, Pa.

Spray Tech Finishing currently has 15 employees in the 40,000-square-foot facility it occupies located at 1853 Delaware Ave., Falconer, in the town of Ellicott. For further information, please contact Henderson via email, thenderson@dawsonmetal.com, or by phone, 664-3815, ext. 241.

Starting at $2.99/week.
