The past 25-plus years have been kind to Floors At Your Door and More, including a recent ownership transfer.

The 2220 Foote Ave. Ext. business saw this exchange occur last year between former owner and founder Kelly Gloss and current owner Menash Petscher of East Amherst.

However, the ownership change has had a very minimal impact on the operations of the business, which originated in 1990 with Gloss selling flooring materials out of a van in the garage of his Frewsburg home. Gloss expanded his business over time and relocated it to its current site about 10 years ago, and Petscher has had a working relationship with him for nearly the same duration of time working as a subcontracted installer for the business prior to his new job title.

Aside from that, Petscher said, Floors At Your Door and More offers the same quality products and services as ever, and he has even retained Gloss as an assistant in the store.

“(Gloss) kind of started showing me the business side of things through the years, and when he was ready for retirement I bought the business from him and turned around and hired him,” Petscher said. “His retirement lasted only a few months before he was right back in the thick of things.”

As always, the business prides itself on offering high-quality flooring products and expertise, along with superior service, at an exceptional value. Petscher, who commutes from the Buffalo area every day, also brings his construction background to the table — which is what the “and More” portion of the business’s name alludes to — adding that the business will soon be expanding into the sale and installation of kitchen cabinets, as well as full-service construction.

“We are all about service, from start to finish,” Petscher said. “It’s not just about making sales, it’s about forming a relationship with your customers. And we’re not charging ‘urban prices.’ Kelly started this business on the foundation of offering high-end products at bargain pricing.”

Petscher is also a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, and expressed his desire to make discounts available to veterans, as well as other public servants such as teachers, police officers and firefighters. Those who wish to take advantage of these discounted offerings are encouraged to come to the store and inquire within for details.

The business is from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. A grand reopening to formally recognize the change in ownership is in the works, with details to be determined. Updates will be provided on the business’s Facebook page.
